Come to a Birthday Bash to celebrate the 200th Birthday of museum founder Henry Sheldon on Sunday, August 15 from 11 am - 2 pm at the Sheldon Museum. Fun for all, free and open to the public. The event includes sidewalk chalk drawing with demonstration by Middlebury portrait painter Katie Runde; face painting by Lauren LaBerge Taddeo; birthday hat making; a scavenger hunt will take families through the Museum in search of interesting and curious objects in the collection. Music by Back Porch Jazz (11-12:45) and saxophone quartet Dead Creek Reeds (1-2). Food for sale from The Poutine Cart, lu•lu ice cream, and Pratt's Store. Bring cash to purchase food. Festivities take place in the Sheldon Museum's garden, Cannon Park, and in the Museum. Park Street will be closed to allow for lots of open space.
