Monday - May 12th - Alpaca Shearing Day at the Farm. Many folks ask "what do you do with the Alpaca?" well here is your opportunity to see first hand! Shearing begins in the morning and continues throughout the day as each "blanket" of fiber makes it way to a quick presort and then onto drying racks in preparation for processing. A unique experience to see the process from start to finish - for the enthusiast we will have the fiber available for purchase in all of it's stages - raw fleece, roving for the spinners, yarn for the knitters, and socks for those just wanting to experience the joy that is Alpaca. Stonegate Alpaca Farm is on the Cambridge end of Poker Hill Road, #638; Bill Cook road off Route 15 is the best choice of entry this time of year! So stop on by and meet the Alpaca.
