Go directly to Jail! Saturday, August 14 at the Windham County History Fair, 9:00 to 4:00 on historic Newfane Common.

Take a tour of the Old County Jail, the County Courthouse, the old Newfane Cemetery, and historic Newfane Village; hear about Vermont wildlife "with a historic twist" by the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum featuring live "animal ambassadors;" research your family roots at the Genealogy presentation, bring your old books for a free professional evaluation at the book restoration presentation; learn how to make maple syrup at Litchfield's sugar house, experience the lost art of the telegraph operator at the West River Railroad Museum. Exhibits by many of Windham County's historical societies, the Vermont Historical Society, the Vermont State Archives, Old Maps of Vermont, and the Community Memory Project.
