At 12:30 p.m. we have author Annette Gordon-Reed reading from her new book, On Juneteenth, taking questions, and signing books at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier (135 Main Street.) Annette is a Pulitzer Prize winning author, historian, and law professor. Later, at 3 p.m., the main event at the State House Lawn - an exciting lineup of speakers - and music by Burlington's famous Nicole Nelson! Mia Schultz, President of the Rutland Area NAACP emcees this stimulating summer program.
We do hope you will be able to join us -- and if you do, please bring a lawn chair and water. Should it rain, the 3 p.m. event will move to the House Chamber at the State House.
