Join us for a gathering of hope and celebration at our offices: 1 Derby Lane, Waterbury VT 05676
For nearly 20 years, the Brain Injury Association has provided critically needed advocacy and support for hundreds of Vermonters every year, from medical professionals to families to direct care service providers and the clients they serve. We have answered phone calls, emails, social media messages and even handwritten letters. We have mailed packets, brochures and reading materials. We listen, help, and educate.
Vermont has no public mechanism to provide support and advocacy to brain injury survivors and their families. Did you know, most survivors leave the acute care setting without any plan to obtain the support they need to recover - to the extent they can - and to learn to live with their injury or disabilities? That is why we're here. To help survivors, their family and friends, and the professionals who care for them.
BIAVT has worked tirelessly with the State, and has provided badly needed information, education, support, and advocacy to this population, relying on private donations and grants from generous people like you. While we have done a great job, there is still MUCH more we want to accomplish, but we can't do that without your help.
Because of a decline in public grants and donations due in most part to the pandemic, we have had to cut back services and operating hours and are at risk of having to dissolve in a matter of a few months. Yes, that means closing the doors permanently.
Please consider donating to our annual Walk & Roll for Brain Injury fundraiser to allow these services to continue.
All you need is to visit: https://biavt.org/walkandroll for event details and donation links. You can make a one-time donation or register and fundraise with us.
We'd love to see your smiling faces at the Walk on August 21 at our Waterbury offices. Festivities start at 11am and end at 4pm. (masks required for unvaccinated people)
