The Vergennes Area Lions Club Annual Charity Auction will be held at St. Peter's Parish Hall, 85 Maple Street, Vergennes, on Wednesday, August 4, with preview starting at 5 p.m. and the live auction at 6 p.m.. As in the past, a wide variety of gift cards from area merchants will be auctioned, as well as donations of furniture, antiques, a Lake Champlain vacation stay, and "white elephant" tables to peruse before, during and after the auction.

Lions Clubs is the largest service organization in the world working to meet humanitarian needs. Vergennes Lions returns about $30,000 each year to the community from fundraisers like the recent vehicle raffle and the auction.
