FOUR HANDS PIANO CONCERT IN SALISBURY

On Saturday, August 7, at 7:30 p.m., the forty-first annual Salisbury Summer Performance Series will feature a four hands piano concert by Brandon artists Tim Guiles and Kristen Carr, with vocals by Hannah Logan. A Vermont transplant from Gorham, Maine, software engineer and tiny house builder Guiles has pursued his life-long affair with the piano from accompanying school choral groups to the likes of the Vermont Symphony Chorus and the Middlebury Community Chorus. Carr's playing has been an active presence in church, school musicals, weddings, and operas. She appeared in Salisbury as the accompanist for Barn Opera's production of "Amahl and the Night Visitors" and is looking forward to working with the Otter Valley UHS pit orchestra for their fall musical. Logan's singing has found her working with Middlebury's Town Hall Theater and the Opera Company of Middlebury. Their wide-ranging concert will include a mix of classical works by Rachmaninoff, Faure, Liszt, Scriabin, Grieg, Bizet, Chopin, and Franck along with jazz arrangements of well-known songs and a medley from "Frozen" with new lyrics on pandemic themes by Logan.

This concert will occur indoors. We request that you wear a mask unless you have been fully vaccinated, and we welcome those who prefer to remain masked even though they are fully inoculated.

The Summer Performance Series will run through August 26 at the historic, but handicapped accessible, 1838 meetinghouse in Salisbury Village. There is no admission charge; a free-will donation in support of the series will be appreciated.
