Medieval Country Fair & Bratwurst Fest, Saturday, May 17, 2014

Posting Body: Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Good Shepherd's 24th Annual Medieval Fair is coming to town. Good Shepherd cordially invites the community to join in a celebration of the Lutheran Church's history and heritage by reliving the medieval days and the dawn of the Reformation. .. times to rejoice with feasting and frolicking. Events, demonstrations, activities, food and live music go on from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Fair Highlights: the Bratwurst Meal with fresh sauerkraut and potato salad, homemade soft pretzels, root beer floats and Tea Room desserts! In Fair style there are craft vendors, live hawks and owls, hands-on kid games, a working forge, Medieval demonstrations in sword play and stick juggling, a Maypole Dance and Parade of Nobles. The local Mount Mansfield Madrigals sing, plus Out O' the Blue Folk Band, the Two Bits and More Pan Celtic group, the Bethany Early Music Consort and the Heather Morris Dancers entertain. The Castle Tour includes the Luther Room complete with a Martin Luther look-alike translating the Bible from Greek into German, a hand printing press to try and Medieval calligraphy fonts to practice. The kids' favorites will be on hand, too: stilts, tug of war, Dunk the Jester, the centipede walk, sheep and chickens and a therapy dog to pet. All the fun and learning is at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 273 Route 15, Jericho, VT, near the junction of Route 15 and Brown's Trace road. The parking is free and so is the admission.
