"All That Glitters is Sold" is a theatrical revue show written by Sam Neagley and Clayton Smith. It tells the story of two shameless producers, Jez and Stancey, who receive a $5,000 performing arts grant from Purdue Pharma. With that money, they produce four short plays in Burlington, Vermont. Each play focuses on a different element of the last year. We reflect on the impact of branding in our personal lives, dependency on social media, the twisted incentive structures of the political media landscape, and of course, some good old fashion film criticism.
The four plays featured are: "The Brand 5", "Good Star Wars", "America Isn't Canceled Yet: The Ballad of Carla Tuckerson", and "A Twitter Carol". These original works will make you laugh, move you, inspire you, compel you to reconnect with old friends, and give our community a space to heal after the past year of isolation and hardship.
The shows are August 12th, 20th, and 21st at 8 pm at City Hall Park.
