One Year Live from the Underground w/ No Small Children

The Live from the Underground (LFTU) performance series celebrates its one year anniversary with a rare Friday night performance on July 30th by award-winning power trio No Small Children. The 7pm performance on Friday will be live-streamed digitally on Bandcamp and followed by an interview with LFTU co-host Jamie Gage.

An all-girl band - or as they call themselves, a band - No Small Children was born on the playground in the spring of 2012. Hailing from Los Angeles, California and elementary school-teachers by day, guitarist and singer Lisa Pimentel and drummer Nicola Berlinsky decided to start the band while covering recess duty. Three months later they had an EP, countless shows behind them and an East Coast tour booked solid. By October 2013, bass player and singer Joanie Pimentel had moved to Los Angeles to join the group.

Hailed by LA Weekly as having the "best qualities of dirty vintage punk and '90s alt-rock into an effortlessly catchy sound," the power trio also recreated the famous Ghostbusters theme song for the hit 2016 movie remake which ran through the credits of that blockbuster film.
"These awesome musicians completely sum up the spirit of our movie," said Director Paul Feig at the time. "Smart, talented, subversive women kicking ass and taking names."
No strangers to Vermont, No Small Children have appeared at numerous venues and events in the last several years, including at the Tweed River Music Festival, and they will also be playing a private party on Saturday in the Randolph area.
