*On historic Newfane Common, Route 30, Newfane*

Step back in time at the Eighth Biennial Windham County History Fair on Saturday, August 14th from 9:00 to 4:00. Held on Historic Newfane Common (Route 30, Newfane), the Fair is a festival of vintage exhibits, demonstrations and historic tours featuring Windham County's rich heritage. The Vermont Historical Society, the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum, the Vermont State Archives and the Vermont State Police will join many of Windham County's Historical Societies with special exhibits for all ages. Tours of the County Courthouse by The Honorable Judge Durkin, the County Jail, the historic Village of Newfane, the Newfane Railroad Station (the West River Railroad Museum) and the old Newfane Cemetery on Cemetery Hill. Presentations and demonstrations include bookbinding and restoration, quilting, fiber arts, old maps of Vermont, maple sugaring, telegraph operating, genealogy. Crafters, old cars and trucks, raffles, food, and much more. Free Admission.
