With nearly 80% of the town covered by forestland, Waterbury, VT is a haven for woodland nesting songbirds. Steve Hagenbuch, a conservation biologist with Audubon Vermont and member of the Waterbury Conservation Commission will introduce some of these bird species through a 2-part program. On Friday evening an indoor presentation will focus on learning about the diversity of birds that nest in the forests of Waterbury, their habitat requirements, and basic habitat management techniques. Saturday morning will be a bird walk where participants can put their bird ID knowledge to the test. Come for one or both segments.
For more information or to reserve a space, contact Steve Hagenbuch at 802-233-0332 or shagenbuch@audubon.org
