Youth Opera Workshop

The Youth Opera Workshop is making its debut as an integrated program of the newly formed Greater Burlington Children's Chorus (GBCC), and will present its first in-person production since the Covid pandemic began. Our twelve talented young Vermont singers have spent the last week rehearsing outdoors, collaborating with younger peers in the GBCC summer chorus camps, and putting together our very own version of Pirates. This week we will be joined by professional alto and seasoned Gilbert & Sullivan soloist, Linda Radtke (also of VPR Classical), who will be singing the role of Ruth. Please join YOW Founder Sarah Cullins, GBCC Artistic Director Kevin Ginter, pianist Alison Cerutti, and these amazing singers in a celebration of laughter and music in an outdoor performance of Gilbert & Sullivan's classic slapstick operetta.

The Pirates of Penzance
Friday, July 23 at 5:00pm
Mater Christi School, 50 Mansfield Ave., Burlington VT

Grounds open for picnicking at 4:30pm (in case of rain, both the picnicking and the performance will move indoors to the Mater Christi gym).

The performance is free. Donations, which will ensure future programming and scholarships, are welcome.

A bake-sale table will be set up before the performance and during the intermission.

This program was made possible through generous donations to the Youth Opera Workshop and the Bill and Liz Metcalfe Scholarship Fund.
