Shelburne's Business and Professional Association has been working hard in this Zooming year to build membership and support for small businesses and attractions that make our town special. Now that Vermont has come so far and so well in combating COVID, it's time to renew our outreach to the community with our first public meeting in over a year, scheduled for Monday, July 26, at 7 PM, at Town Hall. (while it is an in-person meeting, we'll also have a Zoom option for those who cannot or prefer not to meet in person. Keep your eyes open for the link to come soon).
We have invited David Leckey, the Town's Economic Development Consultant, hired last year by the Select Board, to share his report for the benefit of our membership and townspeople who want to hear, imagine and discuss his proposals for growing Shelburne's economic future.
David spent the last months reaching out to local residents, business people and experts who have guided other towns across the country to see how they have navigated change and growth. From this work he compiled a series of ideas for how Shelburne might grow in a way consistent with our way of life and future vision, and we're bringing him to meet with you, our neighbors, to hear his thoughts, offer your comments and feedback and speak to where your vision agrees or differs. It should be a lively and forward-looking conversation where we can all offer our voices to help envision Shelburne's future along with some suggestions for what role SBPA could play in this exciting future.
