The Jericho Pet Parade is back! This time it'll be a Jericho Town Library event and there have been a few small changes from previous years, so make sure you read the details here to know what to expect. The route this year will start at the north end of Jericho Center Circle (closest to the country store parking area), then wrap around the circle past the church and the library. We'll turn around at the intersection with Browns Trace at the southern end of the circle and finish at the judges' tent in front of the library. Everyone can congregate on the Green or browse the library while the judges are deliberating, then prizes will be given out at the tent.
Prizes? Yes-- Pet Food Warehouse gift cards to five lucky winners! The judging categories/themes are: Tokyo Olympics, Summer Fun, Remembering 2020-2021, Most Creative, and Best in Show. We can't wait to see what you make of these categories! Our judges will be Andrea Hook (the expert organizer of previous parades), Lily Devereux (representing Jericho Center Country Store), and Lindsey Halman (the newest member of the library's Board of Trustees)! Pete Davis is back by popular demand as our MC.
Registration opens at 12:00 and will be at the judges' tent in front of the library. Check in there first and then we'll direct you to the parade's starting point. The parade will start around 12:30, following the route described above. Note that Jericho Center Circle will be closed for the duration of this program to make it safe for all our two- and four-legged visitors. There will be parking available in the Community Center/Congregational Church lot; please carpool if you can.
In case of very bad weather, the parade will be rescheduled for Saturday 8/7. We'll post an update on social media by 10 am if that's the case, but as long as it's not calling for heavy showers or thunderstorms, plan that we'll go ahead with it! Jericho is tough :) We are so excited for this tradition to be up and running again, and hope you are too!
