In March of 2020, Babylon: Journeys of Refugees was all set to head off on a West Coast tour when Covid hit. As the uncertainty about the future of live performance continued, it looked like the end of the project and the break-up of the ensemble. However, adversity sometimes brings new opportunities, and we turned our attention to re-imagining Babylon as a film. With the support of our tour funders, the collaboration of Haptic Pictures, the availability of New England Youth Theater, and the navigation of complicated health and safety protocols (including flying two performers in from other parts of the country), we re-created Babylon as a film.
This event includes a panel discussion and Somali Bantu catering by chef Said Bulle of Jilib.
