Hello Roxbury Community!

Tomorrow evening, Wednesday, July 21st, the Montpelier Roxbury Public Schools (MRPS) School Board convenes @ 6:30 PM @ the Roxbury Village School - IN PERSON. This will be the first all in-person Board meeting since March 2020. Public comment will be heard starting @ 6:30 PM. Tomorrow the MRPS Board will launch a discussion (~7:30 PM) on the future use of buildings in the MRPS district, with a specific focus on RVS.

(* Please note: There are TWO very important meetings tomorrow evening in Roxbury. There is also an open meeting to discuss the next phase of the Roxbury Park project; this meeting will be held Wednesday, July 21st @ 7pm @ the Roxbury Community Hall. Consider it a civic engagement crawl through town - we'd all love to see and hear from you.)

Tomorrow evening's meeting will consider the following question:
"How do we best utilize the building resources of MRPS to enrich the learning lives of our students?"

Information and meeting documents that provide context for this discussion are publicly available (https://www.mrpsvt.org/2021-agenda-meeting-documents/tag/07-21-2021). They provide insight around merger history as well as per pupil costs and enrollment, staff turnover, and student academic data for RVS.

The purpose of tomorrow evening's discussion will be to:
-Determine a process for how to hold a larger conversation regarding building usage
-Determine how to enable broad-based community support on the topic

This discussion is relevant to ALL Roxbury community members and taxpayers; you do not need to have kids enrolled in the district to be relevant to the conversation. We need the voices of all at the table. Please come out to RVS tomorrow evening as this very important discussion gets underway!

If you cannot attend in-person, there will be an attempt to air tomorrow's school board meeting via Zoom, however the technology @ RVS is still getting finessed to support that, so no guarantees.
