The Craftsbury Chamber Players begin their six-week summer festival on Wednesday, July 14 at 7:30 pm at the Elley-Long Center in Colchester. Throughout the summer the concerts explore the influence of folk traditions and popular music on chamber music. Featured repertoire this week is a sonata for 2 violins by Jean-Marie Leclair, Gabriela Lena Franck's "Cinco Danzas di Chambi" for viola and piano, Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson's "Blue/s Forms" for solo violin, and Franz Joseph Haydn's "Emperor" string quartet opus 76, no. 2.
Performers are Mary Rowell and Darryl Kubian, violins, Liuh-Wen Ting, viola, Frances Rowell, cello, and Mary Jane Austin, piano. Admission is by donation.
