Stone Valley Arts in partnership with the Poultney Historical Society proudly presents Portraits of a Community on exhibit in our first floor gallery from July 2 - August 29 featuring the photography of Chuck Helfer, Tikko Freilich and Martin Van Buren III and vintage photograph prints from the collection of the Poultney Historical Society.
Opening Reception for Portraits of a Community will be on Sunday, July 11, 2- 5 pm
Chuck, Tikko and Martin were invited to take portraits of people who contribute to the community in significant ways, working in occupations ranging from recreation trail builders, entrepreneurs, slate and maple industry workers, artists, educators, civic leaders, farmers and more. Each photographer offers a unique style and approach to portrait photography. All elements come together for a cross-generational and cross-time connection that creates a lively visual conversation between Poultney's distinct history and the promising present day.
