Have you got a few too many crops of this and that in your garden? Don't want to toss it in the compost if someone else could use it? Then come on down to the General Store on Saturday between 9 – 11 and either share your extra produce with our neighbors or take home some freshly harvested greens, veggies, herbs and also eggs thanks to the generosity of Schoolhouse Farm.
Here are the details: Bring your washed and trimmed garden produce between 9 – 11 (the earlier the better). I'll have a couple coolers but if you can put it in cardboard boxes or plastic bags, that'd be fine. The goal is to have all donations given away by 11 so that nothing ends up going in the compost pile.
"Extra Row," hosted by the East Calais Community Trust, is an informal weekly sharing of our gardens' bounty with our neighbors. NOTE - the Calais-Woodbury Food Shelf is open every 3rd Saturday of the month, so we'll skip those weekends.
If you are unable to bring your extra produce but want to contribute, please ask a neighbor or friend to deliver it to the store.
Feel free to email me with questions or suggestions. We look forward to seeing you!
