The Sheldon Historical Society is sponsoring a Festival of Quilts to raise funds to build an addition to the museum that will house a restroom and elevator to the second floor.
A quilt sale will begin on Saturday July 10 with 85 stunning, brand-new, locally made fabric quilts at the museum at 200 Bridge Street. Quilts vary in size from small garden quilts to full size beginning at $20. We have numerous baby/ crib and lap quilts - perfect for personal use or gift giving! Check out our Facebook Event for more details.
During the festival you'll want to take in the sights near the museum like Thelma's Quilt Garden on the hill in front of the Sheldon Interfaith Food Shelf and large barn quilts on the fence in Grist Mill Park painted by local artisans.
On Saturday July 17 a Chicken BBQ will be served from 11 to 1 - take home or eat in Grist Mill Park across from the museum. Live music will be provided by Old Man Garage Band from 12-2. Small barn quilts painted by budding young artists will be on display for your enjoyment! Tickets for the BBQ are $10 and can be picked up at the museum, the Town Clerk's Office or pre-register at 802-782-3909.
