Since the tragic loss of Tracy Bedell on July 31,2020 when he lost his life in an ATV/Motor Vehicle Accident, his family has been working very hard to turn this tragedy into an amazing story to honor Tracy.
The family and numerous community members have raised $30,000 dollars over the past year to purchase equipment for the Bristol Rescue Squad and the Vergennes Rescue Squad. They were able to supply each rescue squad with a $15,000 LUCAS 3 CPR apparatus.
This summer the family of Tracy Bedell is sponsoring Tracy's Ride with the hope of creating summer camp scholarships for Camp Exclamation Point Inc. (a week-long residential camp for under-served rural Vermont young people). Tracy had the opportunity to attend this camp for four years.
The motorcycle ride will start at The Hog Doctor in Essex Junction and end at approximately 1:30 at the American Legion Post 19 in Bristol, Vermont. A barbecue chicken lunch will be served and there will be a silent auction along with a 50-50 raffle. The Sons of the American Legion have generously donated their time and energy to barbecue.
Tracy's Mom Mary described Tracy as a kind, compassionate and helpful young man. In Tracy's memory, the family has decided to create an event each year to honor him and GIVE BACK to the community.
We are looking for financial donations towards the barbecue with the hopes of funding the cost of the lunch. All donations, once we have met this goal, will go directly to Camp Exclamation Point Inc. to support the scholarship fund.
If you would like to donate, please contact Mary Stetson or Brenda Barsalou.
