Stone Valley Arts, in Poultney, VT., continues its popular "Front Porch Music Series" on July 2 @ 6 PM with the Hermit Hollow String Band. Stone Valley Arts initiated this series of music concerts last summer as a response to Covid-19 and it turned out to be a huge success for musicians and for bringing live music to the surrounding communities. This summer SVA will continue the concerts every other Friday evening featuring local music groups of all genres from Jazz to Bluegrass and the public is welcome to come with lawn chairs, blankets and picnics and enjoy the sounds of summer. The Hermit Hollow String Band is steeped in old time and traditional bluegrass music. Its members are cobbled together from the original Poultney Bluegrass Society. They can be found picking and grinning from the hollers of Hampshire to way downtown Main Street. Instruments you're likely to hear include fiddle (both kinds), guitar, and mandolin, and the occasional bango.
