Davey Davis - Live from the Underground

Past event
Jul 1, 2021, 7 to 9 PM

The Live from the Underground (LFTU) performance series continues this Thursday with a performance by singer-songwriter Davey Davis from Windsor, Vermont. The 7pm performance on Thursday, July 1st will be live-streamed digitally on Facebook and followed by an interview with LFTU co-host Jamie Gage.

Davey Davis is a native Vermonter who grew up on a chicken farm at the base of the mighty Mt. Ascutney. His foray into music followed a stint in the Air Force in the late '60's and an English degree from Johnson State College. While traveling the world, Davey picked up an $8 guitar in San Salvador, which fueled him to, as his bio reads "begin to express myself with feral noise."

Davey's love of Vermont has become legion in the years since, and he has become very well-known for his gritty and authentic, often hopeful and humorous, colorful lyrics about the Green Mountains. A strong photographer and lover of nature, Davey has shown hundreds of Vermonters lots of secret stashes in central Vermont, particular in the wild region of Chateauguay, and he has entertained thousands beyond our borders through his rootsy music catalogued in some 16 releases over the last 30+ years.

Thursday's night's performance will feature new and old originals from Davey, including some favorites from his 2019 release Bones of the Heart.
