Dear Neighbors,
Green Up Day is upon us! City Hall is Green Up Day Central, from 8 am to 2 pm. Come help beautify our community, keep trash out of waterways, and have a little fun outdoors!
Pick up and drop off will be here at city hall, along with treats, prizes, and great volunteers to help you out and talk about some other great things happening in the community.
Green Up Day bags will be available for pick up at City Hall on Friday as well as on Saturday. Special thanks to the South Burlington Land Trust for organizing this year's Green Up Day!!
A few important reminders, so that everyone has a fun, safe time:
- Be Tick Smart: Repel, Inspect, Remove
- Risk Alert: Avoid materials that appear to be hazardous toxic waste. When clustered together items like ammonia tanks, common cold pills, Muriatic acid, Freon or starter fluid, "Heet" brand gasoline additive or rubbing alcohol could be waste from a meth lab.
- Call police if you see unsafe items, anything that looks like the police should know about it.
- Stay away from any homeless camps!
- Don't try to pick up small pieces of broken glass or unusually awkward trash - It's important to take care of yourself and your group!
- Wear bright-colored clothing so that you are easily visible to passing motorists.
