Green Up Day This Sat

Past event
May 3, 2014

Dear Neighbors and Friends in Starksboro, Just a reminder that this Saturday, May 3rd. is Green Up Day. With all of the very positive media attention and lots of new funding, many of you may be well informed about the day, and both energized and willing to help a bit in the effort.

It is really wonderful to already be seeing volunteers along the roadsides and by-ways with their bags open and backs bent in such earnest and community minded work. You are appreciated!

Should you need Green UP bags, they can be picked up at the Town Garage, Horse N Rebel - store not presently in operation, but bags are on the porch - Jerusalem Store, and the Town Clerk's Office.

The state highways that run through our town are Route 17 and Route 116. Should you bag up roadside trash along
those routes your bags can be left beside the road for state trucks.

Volunteers who pick up trash along Starksboro town roads need to transport the trash to the Town Garage between the
hours of 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. If there is no volunteer to toss your green bags in the truck, just leave them on the ground and they will be taken care of.

Should you have tires, metal, or appliances please leave those items in the designated piles next to the GREEN UP truck.

Be well, be safe, and thank you for your commitment to keeping our beautiful state GREEN!
Marcia Perry
Green Up Coordinator
