Albany Food Share Continues as Everyone Eats Comes to a Close

The end of the State of Emergency in Vermont brings an end to the weekly heat-and-serve meals distributed by the Albany Neighbors Task Force through the Vermont Everyone Eats (VEE) program. For Albany, this means the last VEE meal will be this Saturday, June 26th, 2021.

The Albany Neighbors Task Force will continue to offer food staples each Saturday from 2 PM to 4:00 PM at the town hall because the end of the pandemic does not mean an end to food insecurity in our community. We are working on a plan to resume the community meals and will let you know.

Please watch for updates on the Front Porch Forum, on Facebook, and in the Ongoing Events column in the Barton Chronicle.

Parsons Pub and Grill will cook for us on this final week: sauteed breast of chicken with a mushroom sauce (Anything with it? Rice? Salad? Roll?; any local ingredients?)

If you live in Albany or Irasburg and need home delivery, call us, and we will bring it to you.

For more information or to sign up for the Albany Food Share, please call 802 323-1517
When you come, please wear a face mask and keep a 6-foot distance. Free, handmade, layered pocket face masks are available at the food share or the Albany Little Free Libraries, thanks to a local teenager's homeschool project.

The Albany Food Share has now joined forces with the Hardwick Area Food Pantry, but it is still run by Albany Neighbors Task Force volunteers.
Be well, and stay safe!
