GFL Book Discussion: Together and Lost Connections

Past event
Jul 29, 2021, 7 to 8:30 PM

The Library will be hosting a special book discussion in July. We invite you to read one or both of two books exploring the value of social connections in combatting loneliness and depression: Together: the Healing Power of Connection, by U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, and Lost Connections: Why You're Depressed and How to Find Hope, by Johann Hari. We have 10 copies of Hari's book available for loan now at the library, and will have 10 copies of Murthy's book available for loan by July 1. We will acquire more copies as needed through interlibrary loan. Please come in to check out these important books, and join us at the library on Thursday, July 29, at 7:00 for a discussion. Local pastors Ed Sunday-Winters and Tony Acheson, as well as therapist Sharon Moffatt (LCMHC ) have agreed to lead the discussion. You can find more information about these books at each author's website: https://thelostconnections.com/ and https://www.vivekmurthy.com/together-book. We hope you join us!

Stop in the library for a flyer announcing our summer programming for all ages in July and August.
