The Family Forest Carbon Program (FFCP) is an innovative forest carbon program launched in partnership by The Nature Conservancy’s American Forest Carbon Initiative and the American Forest Foundation. FFCP provides landowners who are enrolled with incentive payments to implement select sustainable forestry practices that increase carbon sequestration and storage, while also improving the health of the forest. Come learn about the program and how landowners can get involved! Presented by Jim Shallow, Director of Strategic Conservation Initiatives, The Nature Conservancy -Vermont.

More info on the Family Forest Carbon Program:
This program relies on a new, innovative methodology that takes a practice-based approach, in which the program measures the carbon sequestered based on forest stock changes seen through the landowner taking a positive action from certain practices. This replaces the more time-intensive, traditional forest carbon inventory method, cutting costs to the landowner by 75% and thereby opening carbon markets to smaller landowners. TNC and AFF will be launching a FFCP pilot in Vermont this summer.
