Thalia Field's newest New Directions book, Personhood, continues her exploration of animal-human relations in history, language, and narrative that began with Bird Lovers, Backyard, and Experimental Animals (A Reality Fiction). Other books include collaborations with Abigail Lang, A Prank of Georges and Leave to Remain (Legends of Janus), a performance-novel Ululu (Clown Shrapnel), and two early collections Point and Line and Incarnate: Story Material. Thalia is the Adele K Seaver Professor of Creative Writing at Brown University, where she teaches experimental and interdisciplinary literary and artistic practices.
