Basket Making Workshop for Teens at Wheelock Mountain Farm!
Friday June 25th from 9am-4pm.

This workshop is free for participants with thanks to a generous grant from the Vermont Community Foundation. Join us for the day to enjoy making a basket with others outside in the fresh air.

Bark Basket Workshop:
Join experienced basket maker Justin Sutera as you learn to make beautiful and functional baskets from the bark of our local trees. We will start with a tree, learn about species and specimen selection for material, peeling, and crafting into a finished basket. Basket forms available include pack basket styles, kindling baskets, berry baskets, and tote baskets. These baskets are made entirely out of local materials sourced from our Vermont woods, including trees from this land. The transformation is incredible, and the process fairly simple, yet made a lot easier with the guidance of an experienced basket maker.
