Vermont Girls Choir is a choral education program welcomed to all girls grades 4-12 (and open to recent graduating seniors). Vermont Girls Choir provides the highest quality of choral music and performance education while integrating important values helping build confidence, leadership, independence, community and artistry. The variety of genres will range from sacred to secular. Education, appropriate maturity levels, and respectfully including music from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures will be the foundation of integrating repertoire. Most importantly, Vermont Girls Choir is all about developing an experience of community and sisterhood. Each chorister will grow, learn and strive to be the best person they can possibly be.
Once registration is complete, choristers will be asked to submit a 3 minute video (with guided and specific musical tasks). This will give the conductor and idea of where your chorister is at musically and will be able to provide the attention to both your child and also fitting inside the needs of the choir as a whole. If you are unable to submit a video you will have the opportunity to schedule a recorded phone interview with Jessie Pierpont in lieu of the recorded video.
It will be important that choristers that can attend camp each day in order to learn the music. There will be a mandatory Dress rehearsal and Concert for each session. The dress rehearsal will be from 4-5 and the concert/recording at 6. The concert will be live streamed, at this time it is uncertain whether we will be able to have an in-person audience.
There are two choirs separated by age and time frame. Girls from the older group may have the opportunity to serve as a Lead Chorister with the younger group the following week.
