Bird Walk – Saturday, June 19, 7-9 am

Join the Cabot Conservation Committee for an early morning bird walk near Joe's Pond on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. The walk will be leisurely, short, and mostly flat, and you will hear and see an abundance of birds in this diverse habitat. This walk is for all levels of birding knowledge. The walk will be led by Edward Jenkins, Avian Biologist from the Biodiversity Research Institute in Portland, ME, where he conducts research on songbirds and marine birds. Ed is an exceptional public educator and eager to share his birding knowledge.

Directions: Park at the Passumpsic Valley Land Trust access on Channel Drive. Channel Drive is 2.2 miles west from the junction of Routes 2 and 15, or 3.3 miles east from the junction of Routes 15 and 215. The parking area is 0.4 mile down Channel Drive.

Note: Parking is limited so we urge you to carpool. You can also access our starting point by biking along the rail trail from West Danville. Please try to arrive by 6:45 am so we can get off to an early start when the birds are most active. Bring binoculars if you have them, we will also have spotting scopes.
