Birding and Botany - A wild plant and bird expedition.
Sunday, May 4th; 1:00 - 3:00 pm.

Wheeler Park, South Burlington -at the east end of Dorset Street; gravel parking lot on the right near the entrance to Cairn's Arena on left.

Join 2 local naturalists for an afternoon discovery walk, learning about Vermont's Wild Edible Plants, Healing Herbs, and our Year-round and Migratory Birds.

This workshop is designed for all who have wished to know more about the plants and animals seen (and heard) in our local natural areas.

Wheeler Park in South Burlington is unique, as it encompasses many varied habitats. It includes cedar and pine forests, old fields and meadows transitioning back to forests, Maple and Beech woods, a stream habitat, wetland walkways, and more.

Come and enjoy the afternoon tuning in to your senses and connecting with the natural world. This workshop will be led by Melanie Brotz, RD, dietitian and herbalist, and Susan Moegenburg, PhD, bird and plant ecologist and UVM professor.

Bring a water bottle, binoculars, a notebook if you like, and wear boots. Bring rain gear just in case.

Class fee: $18.00
