Green Up Day May 3

Past event
May 3, 2014

Hope you will get out for Green up Day.

Middlesex residents can bring road side trash, tires, metal and junk to the town garage, by the Romney School, between 9am and 3pm, Saturday May 3rd. for drop off.

There ARE NOW trash bags available at the Town Office, and bags will be available Saturday morning at the Town Garage.

Hope to see you out on the roads of Middlesex making our community clean and green.

(please remember that there is no pick-up of trash bags left by the side of the road nor is this service for household trash or homeowner used tires) Some hints: Be tick smart: (from the Department of Health) Wear long pants, inspect your body for ticks after greening up; remove any ticks found. Repel, inspect and remove is their advice.

Hazardous Materials: Green Up Vermont is asking that we be aware of more instances every year of hazardous materials like needles and containers from illegal drug-making activities. Be safe, please do not pick up any materials that look suspicious, especially containers with liquids still inside. Not only are these dangerous, they are also crime evidence so report it to authorities.

Illegal Dump Sites: If you know of any, please let us know where they are so they can be mapped for future clean up.

Please wear bright clothing and remember gloves to keep yourself safe while wandering our roads greening up.

Thanks for helping out. Middlesex Conservation Commission
