DHS Welcomes Paul Searls on Highway Construction

Past event
Jun 17, 2021, 12 to 1 PM

The Dorset Historical Society's Third-Thursday Lunch-Lecture on June 17th will feature Paul Searls, a professor at Northern Vermont University. The author of several books on Vermont history, Searls will discuss the decades-long debate over Route 7 and an adjacent road in the area between Pownal and Rutland, and with it, the rise of environmentalism in Vermont. Searls is currently at work on a book about this story and is eager to try out some of his ideas on an audience of local people.

DHS's TTLLs begin at noon and last about an hour. Attendees are invited to bring some lunch; desserts and drinks will be provided. The event is free and open to all comers.

The Dorset Historical Society's Bley House Museum is located on Route 30 at Kent Hill Road. For more information, see https://dorsetvthistory.org or call (802) 867-0331.
