Wild & Scenic Solstice!

The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year and this year it falls on Father's Day! Take advantage of all the sunshine and choose your own adventure(s) on our Wild & Scenic Upper Missisquoi and Trout Rivers.

The Wild & Scenic Solstice event encourages you to get out and enjoy the river through both DIY and guided activities. From 10am-2pm on June 20th, visit our Activity Stations at Riverwalk Park in Montgomery, Davis Park in Richford, and Big Falls State Park in Troy to you will be able to get trash bags, maps, and other resources to learn more about Vermont's Wild & Scenic Rivers, as well as participate in guided experiences - Bugworks, Intro to Canoeing, Let's Go Fishing - and games and crafts. Submit the checklist indicating the ways you enjoyed our river on the solstice, and be entered to win prizes from great local business. And don't forget to take and share photos (with the hashtag #UMATR) for more chances to win! Photos must be taken on 6/20/21 along the Wild & Scenic Upper Missisquoi and Trout Rivers, and fit one of the many challenges outlined on our website.
