The Hardwick Farmers Market will host a Pollinator Festival on June 18 from 3 to 6 p.m.
Learn about pollinators, the flowers they love, and help us celebrate them!
Thanks to community beekeeper Mike Heath, Atkins Field is now home to beehives that are busily working to pollinate our community orchard out behind the big granite shed. Mike will be on hand to explain to folks about the care of the bees that day.
Highlights will include music by the Honeybee Steelband, Pollinator T-Shirt Workshop with Jerry Schneider, Pollinator Song and Theater workshop led by members of the Honeybee Steelband, and a Honey Recipe Contest complete with prizes!
Advance sign-up for the Pollinator Song and Theater workshop is helpful in order to reserve a Bee T-shirt and Antenna - or make sure to arrive early (3 - 3:30pm) if you want to be part of that. All ages welcome! Email: emilylanxner@gmail.com.
For Jerry's Pollinator T-shirt workshop, either bring a blank shirt or purchase one for $4 on the day of the event.
Workshop participants can do either or both activities if desired.
Seed ball making for young children!
