Finding Lost Ancestors - from Blanchet to White

Past event
Jun 9, 2021, 6:30 to 8 PM

On Wednesday, June 9th, David Ouimette, a Blanchet descendant, certified genealogist, author and lecturer, will talk about his research on his Vermont ancestors who lived in the Champlain Valley. Using traditional genealogicl methods and advanced DNA analysis, David has managed to reunite Vermont cousins who all descend from Pierre Blanchet and Marie Fournier, habitants and early settlers of the Montmagny region across the river from Quebec — and discovered their family stories along the way.

While this research delved into Quebec as well as local records, the disciplined research process, the thorough analysis of records and the combination of DNA results with traditional sources will provide valuable insights—whether your ancestors resided in Montreal, Boston or Dublin.

David Ouimette, CG, CGL, manages Content Strategy at FamilySearch, prioritizing the acquisition and online publication of records worldwide for family history research

This class will be presented via Zoom on Wednesday evening, June 9, 2021 from 6:30 to 8:00. The cost is $10.00. You can sign up now at: https://vtgenlib.org/general/upcomingClass.php or from our homepage (https://www.vtgenlib.org/).
