Gardening with Native Plants

Past event
May 7, 2014, 6 to 8 PM

Are you interested in conservation? Do you like to garden? Did you know you can combine the two and make a significant impact on local wildlife species? Many people know that monarch butterfly caterpillars can only eat milkweed, but did you also know that up to 90% of insects are the same way? They specialize on certain plants and cannot eat anything else.
If you'd like to learn how to provide more natural food for butterflies, bees, birds and other species of wildlife, join me on May 7, at 6pm for a discussion (with take-home materials) about why gardening with native plants is so important, and how easy it is! We'll also talk about how to get started and what resources are available.
To register please contact Milton Recreation (802) 893-4922; fee $12.
