Keija Parssinen is the author of the novels The Ruins of Us, which earned a Michener-Copernicus award, and The Unraveling of Mercy Louis, which won an Alex Award from the American Library Association. Her work has appeared in The New York Review of Books Daily, Gulf Coast, The Southern Review, The Washington Post, Slate, Salon, the Lonely Planet travel writing anthologies, among others, and is forthcoming in Letters to a Stranger: Essays to Those Who Haunt Us (Algonquin). A recipient of fellowships from MacDowell, Yaddo, and Hedgebrook, she is currently an Assistant Professor of English & Creative Writing at Kenyon College, where she serves as consulting editor for The Kenyon Review.
