One of my favorite Starksboro traditions is right around the corner! The 20th annual Starksboro Baby Brunch picnic is happening this Saturday, June 5th from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm on the green outside of the Starksboro Public Library. This event is for families of all children born or adopted between September 1, 2019 and August 30, 2020, and parents are welcome to bring siblings and grandparents. It's a wonderful time to meet and visit with Starksboro families with children who are around the same age.

During the picnic, parents will be able to go into the library one family / household pod at a time to choose a new library picture book that will be dedicated to their child(ren). And my hunch is that families with young children who enjoy our library will join me in acknowledging reading and checking out "our" picture books was always a special treat! Project READ! also has a huge box of board books for each family to choose from to take one home to keep (and siblings will get to choose an age-appropriate book too!). Thanks to wonderful community volunteers from Project READ! and the Starksboro Public Library, the food will include quiche, fruit, muffins, and other child-friendly snacks.

If possible, please rsvp by emailing starksboropl@comcast.net or by calling the library at 453-3732. We know it's also hard to plan ahead when you have a young one (or two!) at home, so we hope you will plan to join us regardless of whether you're able to rsvp or not, and that you'll plan to stop by either before or after your child's/children's napping schedule.
