Plant Swap June 6

Past event
Jun 6, 2021, 10 AM to 1 PM

Hi neighbors! After a year off, I'm happy to report that the annual plant swap is on :) Here's the info:

BTV PLANT SWAP
Sunday, June 6th from 10am to 1pm at the Sustainability Academy athletic field
Facebook event: https://fb.me/e/1b2KvCyel

Come join your fellow plant lovers for a plant swap! Bring any extra garden perennials and annuals, and any indoor houseplants you'd like to trade or give away, to the Sustainability Academy athletic field and take home new plants for your home and garden.

Swap Rules:
- Please do not bring any invasive plants. If you aren't sure if your plants are invasive, you can look them up here: https://www.vtinvasives.org/
- Label your plants to the best of your knowledge, including common name, botanical name, flower color, light requirements, and anything else you'd like someone to know about their care. If you don't know the name of your plant, feel free to bring it anyway along with a photo or description of what it looks like in flower if it's not in flower at the moment, and we'll try to help ID it.
- We expect to have some plants that will not have takers, so you are welcome to come if you don't have anything to swap and bring home up to 3 plants. We ask that you wait until after 11:30am to come by if you don't have plants to swap.
- We will have a few extra pots and boxes, but it's a good idea to bring your own pots, boxes, and bags to transport your new plants home.
- If you are not able to attend the swap but have plants you'd like to donate, we will be accepting plants on Friday, June 4th and Saturday, June 5th. Email Laura Hale to make arrangements at btvplantswap@gmail.com

Location:
The athletic field is located behind the school next to the parking lot on N Champlain St. The lot will be open for parking. Please note that the school will not be open so there will be no bathroom available.

COVID Safety Precautions:
While we recognize that the risk of COVID transmission is significantly reduced outside, we know that only half our community is fully vaccinated at this point and that many are immune compromised and remain at-risk. If you are fully vaccinated (two weeks have gone by since you received your final dose of vaccine), it is your choice whether or not to wear a mask. If you are partially vaccinated or have not received any vaccine, we ask that you wear a mask while participating in the swap. We will be asking attendees to sign in for contact tracing purposes. Thank you for helping to make this event safe for all!
