Are you a professional who works with young children?
If so, you can take part in the Vermont Humanities Council's Never Too Early, Social-Emotional Development through Children's Literature Training.
You'll get a free set of books and if all components of the workshop are completed, you'll receive 6 credits for your Building Bright Futures account.
The trainings take place on Tuesday, June 15th at 6:00 pm. (through Zoom) and again on Tuesday, June 22nd at 6:00 pm. (through Zoom)

After registering, pick up a set of free picture books from your local library (Lanpher Memorial in Hyde Park, or Barton, Greensboro, Hardwick or Craftsbury). Books will be available until June 7th.

There will be a PowerPoint that you'll review and read some short articles that pose fundamental questions about social development and literacy.
On Tuesday, June 15th at 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. the first zoom session will take place. The group will discuss the books, the questions in the PowerPoint, and some curriculum planning ideas.
A Google Classroom will be set up where participants will find feedback from instructors, and have the opportunity to add input, ask questions and offer feedback to other participants.
Participants will receive activity cards in the mail that can be used in their classrooms and that provide examples for the final project.
A second short PowerPoint will be provided and each participant will be paired with another to work on a final project.
On Tuesday, June 22 at 6:00 the final 1.5 hour Zoom session will provide an opportunity for participant pairs to discuss their final projects with the full group.
