Ash Tree Tagging Walk

Past event
Jun 5, 2021, 10 AM to 12 PM

Hi Neighbors! You might have heard that Huntington won a kit from Vermont Urban and Community Forestry to raise awareness about ash trees and the coming of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) to our region. We've got all sorts of informational goodies to share with the community, including signs to hang on ash trees in the community. You might have noticed some tagged ash on the Town Green! Guthrie Smith and I will be leading a walk in the new Community Forest on Saturday June 5th, meeting at 10AM in the parking lot. We'll be learning to identify ash trees and hanging signs so that other folks out using the trails will be able to identify ash trees in the future. We'll be talking about the prognosis for ash trees in our region, identifying and reporting EAB, citizen science efforts to support ash tree resistance, and anything else that might come up as we walk through the Community Forest. And we invite you all to join!

So please join us on Saturday June 5th in the Brewster Pierce parking lot at 10AM to take a walk in our Community Forest and raise awareness about Emerald Ash Borer!
