Learn about the Vermont Victory Gardens project from Master Gardener and Vermont Victory Gardens co-coordinator Gordon Clark. Victory gardens were prevalent in Vermont during World War II and kept Vermonters fed with healthy, home-grown foods. In 2020 during the pandemic, Vermont Victory Gardens came into being as a way to once again ensure that Vermonters have access to nutritious foods and gain the gardening skills to grow these foods.
The mission of Vermont Victory Gardens is to help people impacted by food insecurity grow more of their own food, as well as to assist community efforts to grow more food for those in need. The project connects expert food gardeners, including UVM Extension Master Gardener volunteers, with gardens that need their knowledge and skills, as well as providing other gardening services and assistance through a collaborative network.
Come learn more about this wonderful project and how you can benefit, contribute, or join them.
