Food Assistance is on the way!
The Heavenly Food Pantry, located at the First Congregational Church on Main Street in Essex Junction, will be open for food distribution to residents of Essex, Essex Junction and Westford on Thursday, May 27, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Vehicles using the Church Street entrance will be registered before being ushered to a pick-up spot where food will be safely deposited directly into car trunks by volunteers. The pantry asks that those visiting the pantry wear face coverings to protect themselves as well as the volunteers who are eager to serve their community. There are no income requirements to receive assistance; however additional federal foods are available to those who personally attest to guidelines set out by the USDA.
Those who do not have transportation but are within walking distance of the pantry are welcome to borrow a shopping cart to bring food home.
Any families needing a delivery are asked to call the church office at 878-5745 between 8:30-2:00. A volunteer will return the call to get details.
The Heavenly Food Pantry is open on the second Monday of each month from 5:30-7:30 p.m., as well as the fourth Thursday of each month from 2:00-6:00 p.m. (except Nov. and Dec. when it is the third Thursday).
The next food distribution will occur on Monday, June 14, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
