Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) works by mimicking natural conditions. Specific locations in urban areas are identified where vegetation, soils, and porous substrates are used to soak up stormwater. Using GSI to manage stormwater not only helps to improve water quality, but also beautifies cities. Join Page Guertin, of the Montpelier Conservation Commission, and Sarah Hoffmeier, a landscape designer and horticulturist, for a walk around downtown Montpelier to learn about our city's GSI. Free, no registration required, masks and social distancing required.
