Good evening all,
On behalf of the good folks at Brush Brook Community Farm and myself, we invite you to come plant trees with us this Saturday from 10-1. We'll be planting native trees and shrubs along Brush Brook and a nearby reach of the Huntington river, and we'd love for you to join us. All ages welcome - all experience levels welcome.
We'll be planting red maples, black willows and shrub willows, silky dogwoods, serviceberries, american plums, basswoods, hop hornbeams, and a few mulberries for future snacking. These trees will help stabilize river banks, sequester carbon, create habitat and food for pollinators, filter agricutlural run-off, slow flood waters, and add even more beauty into this living landscape.
Come on out, dig some holes, plant some trees, meet some neighbors, and bask in this regenerative, enlivening, and altogether joyous work of restoring our watersheds.
Questions? Drop me a line or just show up and ask in person!
