Attempts at Flight (excerpts from The Village Child, 1992)

Intimate "backyard", outdoor performance featuring a series of puppet vignettes spread out along the path for the audience to follow. Attempts at Flight is short sketches adapted from Sandglass' 1992 production, The Village Child, which toured the US and Europe for over 5 years. Tickets are $12 general admission, $10 Seniors and Students, $8 for EBT/Medicaid card holders. Tickets available at sandglasstheater.org

Come see how we mere mortals have tried to soar through our technology, our struggle to grow wings, our philosophical gymnastics, and our spiritual ladders to reach the Angels! And yet, our flights of the imagination have kept us alive in our hopes and dreams, throughout trying times and the challenges of this world. The pieces will be performed by Sandglass puppeteers Shoshana Bass, Jana Zeller, Zak Grace, and Eric Bass.

Capacity is limited to no more than 25 individuals per performance time. There will be 4 performance stations; each with limited seating intended for individuals who are unable to stand comfortably for 7 minutes. Audience will walk from one station to the next along uneven, unpaved terrain. In order to care for all members of our audience and ensemble, masks and social distancing will be required. And remember it is Tick season; please care for yourself and your party. We will request contact information for members of each party at the time of ticket purchase; this information is precautionary measure.
